Reefscapes
A series of reef landscapes, "reefscapes" are presented here to show many of the different aspects of reefs. They give an impresssion of the richness and complexity of reefs. The "Reefs" section of this website shows the individual animals.
So much is causing the death of our rapidly diminishing coral reefs. Warming of the coral seas results in coral bleaching. Acidification negatively impacts coral skeleton growth. Silt from deforested coastal areas and frequent dredging smothers coastal coral reefs. Fertilizer runoff from coastal agriculture causes algal blooms that smother the reefs in different ways.
Help the organisations that work to protect reefs for generations to come.
